Turning Ideas Into Reality

People Making a better Community

Getting it done. Every day thousands of Central Virginians make whatever effort is necessary to do the job of making our community a better place to live.
In groups, and as individuals, we strike out to accomplish tasks large and small. Tasks that may eventually mean the difference between a life of hardships and a life of comfort for some of the people in Central Virginia.
This special project examines the cross-section of men and women who are behind the efforts that benefit our community every day.
Often it comes from ordinary people making an extraordinary effort. And just as often it comes from ordinary people doing a job well. People making the effort to turn a dream into reality. People taking an idea and bringing it to life.
Central Virginia is full of the fruits of these labors. This special section offers stories about some of the most dedicated laborers, like Herb Moore.
Scores of people have found affordable housing because of Moore’s efforts to work tirelessly to provide for those needing help the most.
And you can read about Buzzy Coleman and how this self-made man works to give back to his employees and his community.
